What Does My Dog Need?
Dogs have certain needs in order to be well-balanced and stable
and I have broken up these requirements into five categories:
1. Structure
Every dog needs structure in their lives in order to give purpose, provide stability, and prevent boredom. Without structure, they are left to run their own household, and often times to the detriment of their happiness and your furniture! BITP will provide you with examples of structured training sessions, play-time, walking, feeding time, and other ritual-based activities.
2. Discipline
As much as we love to spoil our special cuddly dogs, discipline is the best way to establish respect in your dog's eyes. BITP is designed to establish you as a true pack leader with dogs who follow.
3. Exercise
This is one of the most basic requirements for your dog and can do wonders for your dog's behavior. However, even exercise needs structure in order to be effective. BITP will show you how to make the most of your time with effective and time-efficient exercise.
4. Consistency
It is important to understand that the entire family needs to commit themselves for the better of the dog. Without the consistency amongst everyone, any training or behavior modification becomes less effective.
5. Affection
This should be the easiest for us to give! The important thing is knowing WHEN to give it. This way, you'll be just as excited about spoiling your dog as he is for receiving it.
